COL (R) Mark Erwin

Mr. Mark W. Erwin served as an Executive Vice President at Strategic Solutions Unlimited, Inc. Mr. Erwin served in the U.S. Army as an Infrantry Officer for over 25 years, commanding from platoon through brigade level in Mechanized Infantry, Airborne Infantry, and Special Mission Units. He commanded at every level of Army Special Operations from Captain to Colonel, including multiple troop level commands, squadron command, and unit command of an elite Special Mission Unit. He became a Specialist in building teams of Joint, Interagency partners working closely with other nations' leadership, both military and civilian. The apex of his counter-terrorism assignments was the command of a 3,500 man Task Force during Operation Iraqi Freedom that teamed with Coalition partners, Inter-Agency departments, and Iraqi Security Forces conducting stability operations throughout Iraq. He culminated his career as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. He has been an Independent Non Executive Director of Heritage Oil Plc since May 1, 2012. Mr. Erwin graduated from Wake Forest University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and completed the U.S. Army War College through a fellowship at the Central Intelligence Agency.
